As an Indian who grew up in the Middle East, this piece was fascinating to read. You should definitely take a look at Lionheart, a top-down hack-and-slash RPG from the publishers of Baldur's Gate and first two Fallout titles.

I didn't know it at the time, but it's a title heavily infused with Persian mythology, something I found out only after looking up Arab myths for the better portion of a year. While the second half of the game is shoddy because the devs ran out of budget, the story is fantastic and has iconic personalities like Da Vinci and Saladin in it. Speaking of which, I should write a review on it someday xD
