Keeping two images next to each other is bound to make people form contrasting opinions. While one image is certainly "dolled up," the other image is by no means unrealistic or masculine. Calling her unattractive is one thing, we all have preferences after all. Plenty of people still find her gorgeous. But straight-up calling a woman masculine or not "ideal" is what sparked the outrage.

As for Abby, I had never seen her that way. I suppose that's because I entered the game without any spoilers (save for Joel's death). It's an interesting way to see franchises.

I think you shouldn't let this line of thinking stop you from playing other games too. Well, what if the creative direction of said game is (partially or wholly) justified by future events?
